Jackson 2007 said the industry was "too often blamed for everything from obesity to youth violence" and says "It is just not true and it's not appropriate." He argues that video games are not to blame with the violence of today’s society; smith 2002 also agrees “The research on video games and crime is compelling to read. But it just doesn't hold up. Kids have been getting less violent since those games came out. That includes gun violence and every other sort of violence that might be inspired by a video game." There is not a massive lead to people being against the fact that video games influence violence. It is blamed mostly on the parents not reading the age certificate. Jackson 2007 says “We are very responsible and keen to ensure that our products are only played by those who they are designed for”. From this I can see that game developers make these games for people that are matured and won’t try to manipulate any of the violence.
